Popularly known as Madzadam Sum (Tibetan.) the trio of Ekajati, Rahula, and Damchen Dorje Lekpa are the main Dharmapala Protectors in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. When invoked, together they are extremely powerful at clearing away negative influences as they watch over the Vajrayana teachings as well as the practitioners of Atiyoga. Moreover, they are propitiated to unceasingly guard the revealed treasures or terma of the Nyingma School.

Blue Ekajati, Ral Chig Ma, in Tibetan, manifests in a terrifying form with a single braid of hair, single eye, and single fang. She is depicted naked and adorned with the usual charnel ground ornaments of wrathful deities.

Rāhula, Kyab Jug in Tibetan, is a mighty 4-armed nine-faced Dharmapala linked to solar eclipses and other cosmic occurrences. His lower body is composed of a large coiled snake or Naga, while his upper torso is adorned with a thousand eyes and a wrathful face that stares ferociously out of his abdomen.

Damchen Dorje Lekpa, third in this trio of Atiyoga guardians, is also known as Vajrasadhu. Before being bound under oath by Padmasambhava, he was the God of Gambling and Warfare. He is depicted riding upon a snow lion, wearing a wide-brimmed hat, brandishing a hammer made of meteor metal and a fresh human heart.

These statues are sold as a set, not separately.

Each statue measures 13 cm high and 10 cm wide, with a weight (before filling) of 500 g/each

An exquisite addition to your shrine to support and enhance your visualisation practices.

Statue Care

You can use a simple feather duster, or a clean, soft cloth to wipe the body of the statue.

Take care to avoid the face, as the pure gold pigment is very delicate, and any repairs would need to take place in Nepal.

For travel and when handling, it is important to wrap the face using the mask it came with, or cotton wool with masking tape to secure.
