Fragrant incense celebrates our marvellous sense of smell. In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, such incense, or “sang”, is burned daily as a sacred offering ritual to clear away negative influences, purify our own state of being, and welcome auspiciousness into our surroundings. The aroma of burning incense, composed of powdered juniper, tree bark, and medicinal and herbal resins, inspires us to regard each day as sacred, and another stepping-stone along our path to enlightenment.
