Handcrafted Gold & Silver Mandala Set – Large

Our best quality traditional hand-crafted mandala offering plate with rings. Fine quality carved silver plate trimmed in gold, and intricately embossed with auspicious symbols. The topmost ‘crown jewel’ is adorned with carved silver and gold motifs, and inlaid with coral on one side and turquoise on its reverse.

Mandala is a Sanskrit term meaning ‘circle’, indicating the centre and surroundings.

The Tibetan Buddhist mandala offering set, composed of matching plate and rings, represents the entire idealised cosmos including mystical Mount Sumeru, the sun, the moon, the stars, planets, the earth and oceans, while the grains of rice we offer represent all sentient beings, their wealth, enjoyments, etc. With this ritual set, one symbolically offers to the Buddhas and one’s Teacher everything imaginable thereby increasing one’s generosity and generating the two kinds of merit: the merit of wisdom and the merit of accumulations. It is said to help the practitioner accomplish the Six Transcendent Perfections.

Ring height ranges from 5cm (base) to 4 cm, and top ornament measures 13cm high. Diameter ranges from 20.5cm (base) to 13cm.
