Embossed Electric Butter Lamp

From the nine precious offerings, the candle holder, or butter lamp, is placed on one’s altar to symbolize illuminating wisdom.

In Tibetan homes, butter has always been highly prized, thus it makes an excellent offering to the deities for generating merit. The butter lamp is traditionally kept lit day and night. The butter lamp can be placed on the altar as a beautiful symbolic gesture of homage to the radiance of mind. Some take a butter lamp before entering their teacher’s presence, and offer it to him or her for lighting to symbolically request the awakening of one’s mind. This butter lamp is an electronic one that can be re-charged with an included cable.
